    Welcome, you have found THE definitive source of information on the Peoria, Decatur and Evansville Railway, on or off the web.  The PD&E was a railroad that connected Peoria, Illinois with Evansville, Indiana for the last 2 decades of the 19th century before becoming part of  the Illinois Central Railroad System in 1900.  To this day, crews will still sometimes refer to the remaining portions as "the old PD&E."  In addition to the wealth of information that can be found here, there is a PD&E list: PD&E Railway or you can contact me directly.
